Exhibition “Upside Down” – Esther van den Brink
12 December 2020 - 15 August 2021| €6
From December 12, 2020 to August 8, 2021, the exhibition “Upside-down” by Esther van den Brink can be seen in the Bovenzaal of Museum Valkenburg. As an illustrator, Esther has been working for years in her studio in Maastricht. With her company “Brinkpics” she makes high-quality illustrations for presentations or websites, for example. She also makes custom cartoons and comics on request.
“Upside down” was Esther van den Brink when she learned that she was one of the Dutch winners of the International Illustrator Competition “Picture This!”, Which is intended to provide a stage for lesser-known children’s book illustrators. After graduating from the Art Academy Maastricht in 1991, she worked for years as a visual artist. The arrival of her three sons made her resume her childhood dream; illustrating children’s books!
The process that she went through can be seen in Museum Valkenburg through many prints and work that she made on commission. This exhibition is all about the child and there will be various activities for children, which will be announced on our website and via the Social Media channels.
Due to national measures to combat COVID-19, reservation is mandatory: https://reserveer.museumvalkenburg.nl
