From 30 June to 22 September 2019, Museum Valkenburg will display an exciting exhibition with work by Dorine van der Ploeg in the upper room. Especially for this exhibition, Dorine returned from Amsterdam to the area where she grew up to work on a new series of collages.

The exhibition at Museum Valkenburg presents two series; the “Green floor / Red floor” series, in which Dorine has captured the light on the floor of her Amsterdam studio with the help of oil pastels and paper, and her most recent collages on paper. The latter series was made in the period from February to June in a “studio” that extends from Houthem Sint Gerlach to Schin op Geul. Dorine travels into the landscape with a bag full of painted sheets of paper to be inspired on the spot by the light, a color, by the grandeur of a tree or the depth in the landscape. Shapes and colors make a representation, in which simultaneously – pre-eminently visible in the larger works – different snapshots come together in a collage of observations.

The opening is on Sunday 30 June at 3 p.m. The opening word is for visual artist Hans Keuls.

The usual means of access apply to the entrance.
