On Sunday 9 August there was a pleasant vernissage of the exhibition “Secrets of the Piepert” by photographic designer Annemiek Mommers who wants to share her childhood memories with us by wandering together in the landscape of her youth. In addition, she wants to use the images and found objects shown here to inspire people to look more consciously at their own living environment.

Working with found objects or “Objects Trouvé” is an art form in which a former utensil (or a remnant thereof) is taken out of its everyday context and elevated to art by displaying it in a museum setting.

The interesting book that Annemiek wrote about her “Secrets of the Piepert” is available at the counter of the museum.

The exhibition can be seen until September 6, more info: https://www.museumvalkenburg.nl/en/agenda/photo-exhibition-secrets-of-de-piepert/
