Museum Valkenburg presents as part of the exhibition “We Do Remember”: lecture by “Valkenburg” Knight Military William Order, Gijs Tuinman.

On Thursday 12 September 2019 at 7 pm in the former Postkantoor at Lindenlaan 17 in Valkenburg.

Lieutenant Colonel Gijs Tuinman received his military award for the heroic performance of him and his team in 2009. The military William Order is the highest Dutch award for proven courage. He grew up in Valkenburg, grew up at the Royal Military Academy in Breda and became a national hero through his work in Afghanistan. The place where he spent his youth on the Emmaberg in Valkenburg played a major role in his choice to become a soldier: an old farmhouse with a past.

The entrance is FREE but it is necessary to order a free ticket in advance, look at https://www.museumvalkenburg.nl/agenda/we-do-remember-lezing-door-valkenburgse-ridder-militaire-willemsorde-gijs-tuinman/
